The lake, originated by the dam of the waters of two rivers, has a length of 3 km, a U shape and an area of 40 hectares. Next to it is the small town of San Ignacio de Arareko. It is a well-known tourist destination due to its beautiful landscapes, being surrounded by large coniferous forests and other trees (oaks, strawberry trees) and spectacular rock formations. Near the lake you can admire an impressive hidden cave, as well as rocky shelters that formerly gave home to the Raramuris. The pine aroma and the clarity of the water are an incomparable natural spectacle.
